Day Trippin’

Though day trips aren’t as easy as they used to be (kids, dog, I’m old, etc), good ones are still a great break from the norm.

Sat, June 26, 6:00am, Fort Mill, SC, wake and turn on coffee

6:00am – 7:15am, kid’s breakfast, swim suit on and pack the van (including my sweet new canopy from Dick’s Sporting Goods and the wagon for hauling).

7:15am – 10:30am, drive (wife was scanning the radio for music and stopped when she heard the Scorpions, “Rock You Like A Huricane”, Nicccce).

10:30am, arrive, Isle Of Palms, SC.

10:30am – 3:00pm, sit, swim, sit, help lady with her tent, uncrustable, swim, sit, pringles, swim, gatorade, sit, swim, pack it up

3:00pm-3:30pm, clean-up, change, postcards (wife)

3:30pm-5:00pm, Acme Cantina for an early dinner and the rest of the US v.  Ghana World Cup match.  The shrimp and Grits (with Smoked Sausage) are the best I have ever had.

5:00pm-8:20, drive from the sunny ocean to Fort Mill, SC

A great way to spend a hot summer day!
